Twitter trolls have made the headlines again this week following accusations from former footballer Stan Collymore that the site doesn’t do enough to combat abusive messages.
Now working as a sports broadcaster, Collymore has been targeted by trolls after he controversially suggested that a Liverpool player intentionally took a dive in order to earn a penalty in a football match at the weekend.
He’s since tweeted: “In the last 24 hours I've been threatened with murder several times, demeaned on my race, and many of these accounts are still active. Why?"
Followed by: "I accuse Twitter directly of not doing enough to combat racist/homophobic/sexist hate messages, all of which are illegal in the UK."
And then: "Several Police forces have been fantastic. Twitter haven't. Dismayed."
But tackling trolls on Twitter isn’t actually difficult – if you want to do it, you can! UK Company Crisp Thinking holds the solution to the problem; in fact we’ve had the solution since the problem came into existence seven years ago.
